Alternative rock band GUSTER joins Steven Jarvi and the Toledo Symphony for a one-night-only performance of their most beloved songs from their Look Alive, Evermotion, Easy Wonderful, Keep It Together, and more! Formed in 1991 at Tufts University, Guster remained mostly underground for their first two albums and broke into the mainstream with their third album, Lost and Gone Forever featuring "Fa Fa" which landed them in the Top 40.

An Evening with Daniel Emmet

Redefining what it means to be a cross-over artist, Daniel Emmet’s vocals burst with operatic power, yet is mellowed by pop sensitivity. Daniel made his first appearance in Toledo alongside David Foster and Katharine McPhee in October 2022. The Las Vegas Headliner and America’s Got Talent finalist returns for one night only to showcase his wide range of expression that spans the musical genres from rock, to pop, to opera, all the while singing in seven languages.

Salute to the Armed Forces

The United States military has inspired some of the greatest music of our time. It’s hard to imagine a world without Sousa marches or cinema without “Saving Private Ryan” or “Born on the 4th of July”. This concert is both moving and rousing with favorite marches, musical salutes, and tunes from military movie soundtracks. Also included are audience favorites such as “Star Spangled Overture”, “Armed Forces Salute” and “Stars and Stripes Forever” under special direction of retired Marine Corps band director, Ronald C. Biggs.

Girl Named Tom

Girl Named Tom made history as the first trio to ever win The Voice. During Season 21, they landed 4 songs concurrently on the iTunes Top 10 charts, with 2 songs reaching #1. The siblings gained newfound love from fans around the world while performing on live TV. As part of their 2023 "One More Christmas" tour, Girl Named Tom will perform Christmas classics as well as original songs from their 2022 release “One More Christmas” with the Toledo Symphony.

Honoring the true “Kings” of classic soul, featured hits include Soul Man, Shop Around, Get Ready, Try a Little Tenderness, Stand By Me, Move On Up and Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher.

Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day, this concert is full of fun as we journey through a musical history of dating and love. From the melodramatic couple Samson and Delilah’s wildest party scene to films where we all fell in love like “Pretty Woman” and “Ghost,” this is a unique program offering something for everyone.  Two lucky couples will even join us to play The Newlywed Game during the concert! 
This concert also features special guests, the Dearborn Youth Symphony, in our annual side-by-side performance. These talented high school students represent 27 communities throughout Southeast Michigan and Maestro Jarvi skillfully combines them with our orchestra for a program not to be missed.

Buckets N Boards Comedy Percussion Show is a spectacularly imaginative work brought to life by two prolific performers! Matt Levingston and Gareth Sever, two masterful musicians and comedians, bring a joyous charm to this full stage production. The intricate beats and stunning synchronicity combined with the variety of instruments and found objects they can manipulate is inspiring! The comedy, centered on improvisational interactions with the crowd, is the driving force of the show!

This up-tempo program includes songs from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite such as “The Wearing of the Green” and “The Girl I Left Behind Me,” Percy Grainger’s “Shepherd’s Hey” and “Irish Tune from County Derry” (better known as “Danny Boy”), Benjamin Britten’s folk song medley Irish Reel, and many more.

Movie Night is always an audience favorite and this season we bring you the sounds of blockbuster legacy films. The sound of these films has become a soundtrack that defines generations, and for musicians, it continues a legacy of romantic music that was interrupted by WWI and found a new voice in Hollywood. Music from blockbuster movie soundtracks like “The Godfather,”  “Star Trek,” “Indiana Jones,”  and “Pirates of the Caribbean”  have captured the imaginations of millions for decades.  The Dearborn Symphony will perform live what so many people have only heard through speakers as we perform some of the most lasting music of the 20th and 21st Century.

Award-winning hip hop artist, actor, film producer, and poet, Common joins the Toledo Symphony for an unforgettable, one-night-only performance. Starting with his breakthrough 1992 album Can I Borrow a Dollar?, Common quickly became one of the most influential figures in hip-hop, augmenting his illustrious music career with roles in film and television in the decades that followed. Don’t miss this iconic, multi-talented artist as he takes the stage at the Peristyle Theater for an exciting evening with the Toledo Symphony on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8pm.

The Eyes of the World

From D-Day to VE Day. In a must-see program for history lovers, historian John Monsky captures the dramatic final 11 months of World War II in Europe through the eyes of Ernest Hemingway, LIFE magazine war photographer Robert Capa, and Vogue model-turned-photojournalist Lee Miller. This musically driven, multimedia experience tells the story of those who served and sacrificed for our country, including the young men who landed on the beaches of Normandy and the all-Black 761st Tank Battalion.
